Blair Cancels Book Event in London Due to Protests
After meetings and interviews in Washington, former Prime Minister Tony Blair flew back to Europe, to hawk his memoir, A Journey: My Political Life.
Suffice it to say, the book tour didn't get off to a great start.
"Skirmishes broke out between protesters and police at the first public signing for Tony Blair's memoirs, with shoes and eggs hurled at the former prime minister," The Guardian reports.
Now, Blair has cancelled a London book signing, "amid warnings that he would face a hostile reception from anti-war protesters."
According to the New York Daily News, "Blair said he was doing the public a favor by scrapping tomorrow's scheduled event at a shop in central London."
"I don't want the public to be inconvenienced by the inevitable hassle caused by protesters," Blair said.

Stay warm this winter in a black hooded sweatshirt. Order one. Order them by the dozen and donate them to occupations!

The Guardian article of Sept. 4th is about the interesting protest demonstration in Dublin, Ireland and there are now plenty of video clips for this; having just checked.
The following video is among the shorter ones for this protest, but it gives an example of shouting protestors for "peaceful politics", some angry ones early in the video clip, some shouting "Arrest the f*cker Blair", et cetera. And none of the following video clips show the throwing of shoes and eggs at Blair, but part 2 of the second video has some excellent content.
"PROTEST AT TONY BLAIR BOOK SIGNING IN DUBLIN" (3:01), Sept. 4th

The whole following video is roughly 35 minutes, total, and the first part is fine, but it mostly shows protesters and the Guarda security people in very tight space, while the protesters were were clearly peaceful, but there was still some shoving and improper handling, aggressiveness by some of the Guarda officers. Near the end of part 1, one protester, clearly a very peaceful one, appeals to the Guarda officers to obey their oath and stop protecting Blair from arrest, but gets no support from the Guarda. And people reading this who don't have time to view the three clips should start with part 2.
""Who's Cops? Blairs Cops!" - Tony Blair in Dublin 1 of 3" (14:56), Sept. 4th

Part 2 begins with an excellent and very refreshingly intelligent statement by a young woman condemning the crimes and lies of Israel against Palestinians and the complicity of Blair in this; but mostly condemning Israel for its genocidal conduct and lies. What she said couldn't be more intelligently stated and her tone should be inspirational for most people who need some really good examples of clearly true humanity in a person to be able to get up off their sofas and join in active solidarity for peace and justice, human rights, et cetera.
Part 2 (14:54)

At 10:30 into part 2, an activist speaks to people in a line, perhaps the line of people who had gone to meet with or to hear Blair, but this activist tries to very peacefully inform people in the line some very interesting information that I don't think to have yet heard or read of regarding what clearly is considerable evidence that both 9/11 and the July 7th, 2005, London bombing were inside jobs. If what he says is true, then it's important information, and it's based on what investigators and, I think, some analysts found.
That's a critical part of the whole story of these wars.
There's little to part 3, which is 5:15.
