Bill Hughes' Slideshow of 44 Photos from Rally to Close Guantanamo and End Torture

Beginning at the U.S.Supreme Court, in Washington, D.C., anti-torture activists demonstrated on Saturday afternoon, January 11, 2013. They demand that the Obama Administration keep its word and close the notorious prison facility located on the island of Cuba. It’s known as “Guantanamo.” They also insisted that the federal government uphold “Human Rights.” The over 100 protesters, dressed in orange prison-issued-like jumpsuits, then marched in a double-file over to the Ellipse, a 52 acres park, located just south of the White House. There, the demonstration, with speeches, continued to about 3:00 PM.
