10 Actions on the 10th Anniversary of the US Invasion of Iraq

By davidswanson - Posted on 19 March 2013

March 19 will mark the 10th anniversary of the US invasion of Iraq. We are working to support reconciliation and new relationships based on peace, justice, friendship, and mutual respect.

Here are 10 ways you can help:
  1. Send a letter for peace. Write a letter to the Iraqi people or an Iraqi individual and we'll be sure it gets delivered. Learn more.
  2. Attend a bridge vigil and presentation by IARP Executive Director Kathy McKay and Board Member Steve Clemens marking the anniversary on March 20 in Minneapolis. Learn more.
  3. Share stories of Iraqi citizens and US veterans affected by the war. Read, watch, and share the stories here.
  4. Provide life-saving clean water to Iraqi children. Learn more.
  5. Start a new Sister City relationship between an Iraqi and American city. Learn more in our report here.
  6. Write a letter to the editor about the ongoing human costs of the war. Check out the template provided by Iraq Veterans Against the War here.
  7. Organize a race or walk with your community to raise awareness and funds for clean water in Iraq or support for peacemakers in Iraq. Learn more
  8. Share the new website, Costs of War, by Brown University.
  9. What do you dream about for Iraq's future? Write it here.
  10. Forward this email to a friend.
