How that intervention takes shape, whether it be in aid, advising, air strikes, boots on the ground, or the kind of shock and awe only a Nobel peace prize winning Commander in chief can deliver remains to be seen.

In the 5-4 decision, the majority of justices on the Roberts court ruled that individuals could buy elections. Or, in the words of Chief Justice Roberts, “government regulation may not target the general gratitude a candidate may feel toward those who support him or his allies, or the political access such support may afford.”

A Single Woman Who Likes Sex! Or; Reclaiming the Morality of Abortion

Originally posted at PopularResistance.org

In 2008, the Democratic party dropped its language dropped its old abortion language ("safe, legal and rare"), which had asked that women not have abortions unless they absolutely must, and changed the official platform.

In other words, it stopped patronizing women into feeling like Abortion is something they should apologize for. Instead, the Democratic party position now reads: "The Democratic Party strongly and unequivocally supports Roe v. Wade and a woman's right to choose a safe and legal abortion, regardless of ability to pay, and we oppose any and all efforts to weaken or undermine that right."

How much does religious dogma and/or men in long white dresses with funny hats hold women back from being an equal member of society?

If the Church is built inside of a Patriarchy, so to then, is the State. Can we reform this system from within through legislation while maintaining a patriarchal system?

Cutting off H2O to the NSA

According to OffNow.org , there are THREE steps that can be taken on a state level to make life difficult for the NSA.

Reset The Net

Fight for our Future has launched a "Reset The Net Campaign" for June 5th, 2014.

The problem, as outlined at Reset the Net, is:

"The NSA is exploiting weak links in Internet security to spy on the entire world, twisting the Internet we love into something it was never meant to be: a panopticon." It defines a solution as "We can't stop targeted hacking, but we *can* stop mass surveillance, by building proven security into the everyday Internet."

Finally, the plan is to "First, get hundreds of sites & apps to add proven security (like SSL). Then on June 5, we'll run a splash screen *everywhere* to spread NSA-resistant privacy tools."
